Harbour International Freight today reconfirmed its commitment to the Manchester and UK economy today, announcing a move to its new custom-built 43,000 sq ft HQ at Trafford Park.

Harbour, which has had its UK base in the Manchester city region for over 40 years, has gone from strength to strength in its freight forwarding business, serving the UK, Ireland, Europe and further afield, and our new address on Trafford Park, reflects a need to expand as we move from our existing Eccles site.

New Freight Forwarding depot

The new site includes state of the art CCTV for tracking of freight throughout the facility, cross dock unloading and over 6000 space pallet storage. The new Manchester freight transport depot also brings together our various sites under one roof which will vastly improve our offering to our clients. The advantages of having same day courier, direct domestic haulage, logistics & warehousing, UK overnight Pall-Ex freight with our Irish Sea and European services all together is an exciting leap forward for Harbour and our customers who import and export.

The move will be staged between Mid-December to January to avoid any disruption to our UK and overseas freight services, and we expect to see the advantages of being under one roof immediately in our supply chain, as well as a boost to our efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Steve Swinburn, UK Managing Director of Harbour said “As our business grows, it’s crucial that our premises enable us to serve our expanding customer base, add growth to the Manchester economy, and give our staff first rate facilities. The new site at Merlin Park enables us to do this while giving us an eye on the future if we need to expand further.”
